The Cape Forchu Lighthouse and Leif Erikson Trail is a special place where many local residents and visitors have created lasting memories. Your support helps to offset the cost of operating the site and maintaining the grounds & historic structures in the harsh environment.

We are owned and operated by the Municipality of the District of Yarmouth, and donations to municipalities are tax deductible. Your donation will go directly to the general operating budget of Cape Forchu, unless specified for a particular cause or project. Additionally, tax receipts are provided for donations over $25 if requested.

You can make direct cash or cheque gifts by utilizing the onsite donation boxes, visiting the tour registration desk (debit & credit accepted), sending us the donation by mail (1856, NS-304, Cape Forchu, NS B5A 5G7) or donating online.

If you’re looking for the perfect way to honour a legacy, celebrate a special occasion, or give a gift to a long-time lighthouse lover, please consider our Memorial Bench program. Opportunities are available to sponsor an existing permanent bench or donate a new bench or picnic table, which would include a dedication plaque with the wording of your choice.
